Our Story
Based in the heart of Central Florida, serving Flagler County and the nearby town of Pierson, Project Share was founded by Roseanne Stocker in 2000. It began when Roseanne happened to take a drive through Pierson and was struck by the level of extreme poverty she saw. Determined to somehow make a difference, she contacted Pierson Elementary School and asked if there were any organizations working with the school to provide Christmas toys for local children. The school principal at the time said that there was no such help, but that she would be glad to accept donations and see that they were distributed to the families most in need. Stocker rallied her friends, family, neighbors, and her own children’s school (St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School in Palm Coast) to gather enough toys for 30 families that first year.
From its humble beginnings, Project Share has grown exponentially, thanks to the unwavering support of volunteers, donors, churches, businesses and service organizations, including Rotary Club of Flagler Beach.
Project Share’s impact didn’t stop with Christmas toys. The organization has expanded its efforts to include monthly food distributions in Pierson.
Today, Project Share provides Christmas toys and gifts for approximately 800 children and healthy monthly groceries for approximately 500 families. The organization’s success is a testament to the power of community and the positive impact that passion and commitment can make in the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors.
Those who support Project Share believe that together, we can create a stronger, more caring community. By volunteering your time or making a donation, you can be a part of this journey and help us make an even greater impact.
