It was thirteen years ago when Project Share made the decision to add monthly food distributions to the Christmas toy outreach we were already committed to in Pierson. The idea was born of a simple yet powerful vision—to support families in need with essential groceries and the kindness of a helping hand.
That first year, in 2012, we began providing food for 30 families with the help of friends, Flagler Beach neighbors, Rotarians, and the supportive community at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School in Palm Coast, where my children attended. Those early days were filled with heart and determination, fueled by the belief that no family should go hungry.
Since then, our mission has grown in ways we could have only dreamed. Today, thanks to the unwavering support of countless volunteers and partners, Project Share now feeds 535 families every month—touching the lives of approximately 2,500 individuals. This incredible growth is a testament to the power of compassion and community coming together to make a difference.
Every family we serve receives a cart of healthy and nutritious groceries, including a beautiful assortment of fresh produce, meats, dairy, and pantry essentials. These items go far beyond filling stomachs—they bring hope, stability, and a sense of dignity to those facing challenges.
We owe so much of our success to the phenomenal partnership we have with Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. Their commitment to our cause ensures that, every month, a truck loaded with the much-needed groceries makes its way from Orlando to Pierson. This partnership is the backbone of what we do, and we are endlessly grateful for their dedication.
As we reflect on the journey from 30 families to 535, we are filled with gratitude—for the countless hours of volunteer work, the generous donations, and the unwavering belief in our mission. But this is not where the story ends. The need in Pierson continues to grow, and so must our efforts.
We cannot do this alone. If you are moved by our mission and inspired by what we’ve achieved together, we invite you to join us. Whether you can donate time, resources, or simply spread the word, your contribution matters. It is the collective power of many that makes miracles like this happen. Together, we can ensure that no family is left behind.
Help us grow, help us reach more families, and help us continue spreading hope—one cart, one family, and one community at a time.
With gratitude and hope,
Roseanne
