At Project Share, we have much to celebrate!
2025 marked 25 years of Project Share. In 2000, we began providing Christmas toys for about 100 children in the tiny, agricultural town of Seville, FL. Fast forward 25 years to December, 2025, and Project Share provided toys, gifts and bicycles for more than 800 children in Volusia and Flagler Counties. Thanks to the generous donations of many community members – we distributed approximately $100,000 worth of toys, gifts and bicycles in 2025!
In addition to our Christmas outreach, Project Share makes an impact through our monthly food distribution in Pierson that takes place every second Wednesday of the month. We are now in our 10th year of hosting the food distributions, and we provide for approximately 650 families, or well over 2000 individuals. We are grateful for our partnership with Second Harvest Foodbank of Central Florida, as well as the invaluable support we receive from community volunteers and local church congregations. We honestly couldn’t do what we do without the faithful, helping hands from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Daytona Beach, San Jose Catholic Church of Pierson, and Pierson Methodist Church.
December 2025 also marked the end of our first year as an independent and officially registered 501c3 charity organization. When Project Share started in 2000, it was an independent effort. A year later, it was adopted by Rotary Club of Flagler Beach as the club’s official Christmas service project. Today, while Project Share is still supported by Rotary and by Rotarians who volunteer and serve on the Project Share board, we are once again an independent organization with a 501c3 designation that enhances our ability to raise funds and apply for grants to expand our reach.
In fact, Project Share just received our first grant, which was generously awarded by United Way of Volusia and Flagler Counties. We will use this grant for the exclusive support of the Pierson Community Pantry, which is one of our primary partners in the monthly food distributions. Helping to keep the Pierson Community Pantry’s doors open is of vital importance as Pierson is a food desert where families facing food insecurity depend on the pantry, along with Project Share’s monthly food distributions.
As the new year begins, Project Share remains committed to our mission of bringing hope, joy, and essential support to families and individuals in need. We will continue to provide healthy monthly groceries in underserved communities. At Christmas, we will continue to deliver toys, clothing, bicycles, and gifts to struggling families.
Project Share exists to help wherever needed and to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those facing hardships. We look forward to seeking opportunities to extend our assistance as needs arise in the community, striving to make a difference through diverse and impactful projects.
We are extremely grateful to every donor, volunteer and supporter who believes in our mission and trusts our commitment to get the job done. Our work in making a meaningful difference for others continues. We invite you to join us, knowing that together, we can make a difference one family at a time.
