Project Share honors volunteers during April: National Volunteer Month

April is National Volunteer Month, so we want to take this opportunity to honor the compassion, commitment and generous spirits of those who give their time each month at our Project Share Mobile Food Drops in Pierson.

Take a look, for example, at our April 8 distribution when Pierson was in the middle of a terrible rain event. High winds and steady downpours went on for hours. Our food distribution went on as planned. Despite the weather, volunteers showed up – raincoats soaked, umbrellas turned inside out, smiles unwavering.

Families arrived for the food, and because of our volunteers, they left with groceries, dignity, and hope. April 8 was more than a distribution; it was a testament to compassion in action. Volunteers made all the difference, proving that when the storm comes, our community stands together.

As we honor Project Share’s volunteers, we also hope that their example will serve as an invitation. Are you someone who might want to experience the energy of knowing you are part of something impactful – something that positively impacts one family at a time, and  tangibly strengthens the fabric of our community?

At Project Share, we believe that caring for our most vulnerable neighbors is both a responsibility and a privilege. April reminds us that volunteers are the heartbeat of this mission. This is your invitation to join us any second Wednesday of the month, between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm at 165 Emporia Rd., Pierson. We have a job for everyone! Together, we can do so much—and together, we will continue to make a difference.
